Celebrating the European sound of today and tomorrow

The Music Moves Europe Awards is the European Union-funded prize that celebrates the emerging artists who represent the European sound of today and tomorrow. The annual awards are designed to accelerate the international careers of upcoming European acts.

Each year, 15 outstanding nominated artists are eligible for five Music Moves Europe Jury Awards, including the acclaimed Grand Jury Award, and the Public Choice Award. The Music Moves Europe Awards 2023 will be granted at the Awards Ceremony at on Thursday 19 January at ESNS (Eurosonic Noorderslag) in January 2023.

Each year, 15 outstanding nominated artists are eligible for multiple Music Moves Europe Awards. The nominated artists are selected from quantitive and qualitative data analysis and recommendations by music professionals from across Europe. The award winners are selected by an independent jury of music professionals. Explore the overview of all awards below.

Jury Awards
From the nominated artists, the independent jury of five music industry professionals will select five winners for the Music Moves Europe Jury Awards. Each award is accompanied by a €10,000 prize. 

Grand Jury Award
From the Jury Award winners, the independent jury will grant one artist the Grand Jury Award. In addition to the €10,000 prize, the acclaimed winner will receive a Green Touring Support voucher worth €5,000.

Public Choice Award
From the nominated artists, the nominee with the most online votes will receive the Public Choice Award. The award is accompanied by a €5,000 prize and a recording session with Deezer.

Each award-winner will additionally be granted the opportunity to perform at showcase festival ESNS (Eurosonic Noorderslag) and receive financial support for tour and promotional expenses.

Each nominee is also offered the opportunity to attend the Business Education Training Day, to develop their skills and prepare them for an international career. Attendance includes keynotes, expert meetings and training sessions, and is worth €1,250.Deezer website

Music Moves Europe, the overarching framework for the European Commission’s initiatives and actions in support of the culturally diverse and vibrant European music sector, and Creative Europe, the EU funding programme for the culture and audiovisual sectors, aim to help the music sector flourish by supporting the annual Music Moves Europe Awards.
