Ásgeir is an Icelandic singer-songwriter known for his melodic folk sound and thoughtful approach to songwriting. he performs with his own Ásgeir Trausti Band and also plays guitar in the Icelandic group The Lovely Lion.His debut album, "Dýrð í dauðaþögn", sung entirely in Icelandic, became the best-selling debut in Icelandic history. The English-language version, "In the Silence", released in 2014, was translated and re-produced with the help of American singer John Grant, expanding his international reach.
