Latvia
Carnival Youth is a Latvian indie band formed in 2011 by twin brothers Edgars and Emīls Kaupers, together with Roberts Vanags and Kristiāns Kosītis. With their blend of bright indie pop, dreamy melodies and playful energy, they quickly grew into one of Latvia’s most successful alternative bands. Their debut EP “Never Have Enough”, released in 2014, and first album “No Clouds Allowed” earned them immediate national recognition, including the Latvian Golden Microphone Award for Best Debut. Carnival Youth has performed across Europe and beyond, including Canada, the United States, and major festivals such as SXSW, The Great Escape, Sziget, Open’er, Reeperbahn and Eurosonic. Their music is often described as dreamy, adventurous and optimistic, a unique combination that has established them as one of Latvia’s most successful indie acts.
