Rahim Claude Redcar is a French singer and songwriter best known as Christine and the Queens. Born in Nantes, he learned piano from age four and developed his artistic identity while studying in London’s club scene. After releasing EPs between 2011 and 2013, he achieved major acclaim with his debut album “Chaleur humaine” in 2014, which reached number two in France and the UK and was certified diamond in France. His second album “Chris” followed in 2018, earning widespread critical praise, with the song “Girlfriend” named song of the year by Time. In 2020, he released the EP “La vita nuova”, widely regarded as his strongest work at the time, with Time again selecting “People, I’ve Been Sad” as song of the year. He later released “Redcar les adorables étoiles (prologue)” in 2022, “Paranoia, Angels, True Love” in 2023, and the dance-leaning “Hopecore” in 2024. Redcar has been ranked by Vanity Fair as the most influential French figure promoting national creativity and has been featured twice in Time’s Next Generation Leaders list.
