Corneille is a German-born, Rwandan-raised singer who became a naturalized Canadian and performs in French and English, drawing on funk and soul influences like Prince and Marvin Gaye. After emigrating to Quebec in 1997, he released the Canadian version of “Parce qu’on vient de loin” in September 2002 and the expanded French version in October 2003, establishing his solo career in France and Canada. He toured extensively after those releases and followed with the album “Les marchands de rêves”, released in November 2005, while also engaging in humanitarian work and collaborations.
