Hush
Hush
Denmark
Hush is a Danish pop duo consisting of singer Dorthe Gerlach and guitarist Michael Hartmann, who began working together in 1997 after meeting while Gerlach was busking in Randers. In the early years they experimented with a full band setup, but later reinvented their sound around a calmer acoustic style and moved to Copenhagen. The move led to a breakthrough showcase in London and songwriting sessions in Nashville. Their debut album “A Lifetime”, released in 2004, sold 20,000 copies in Denmark and was followed by international touring with artists such as Turin Brakes, Stephen Fretwell, and Jamie Cullum. Their music incorporates instruments like mandolin, banjo, and mellotron, setting them apart from mainstream pop.
