José González
Sweden
José González is a Swedish singer-songwriter known for his blend of indie folk with classical guitar technique and unique vocals. He performed in several bands before beginning his solo career with his debut album “Veneer,” released in 2003. The album became an international success, driven by his acoustic reinterpretation of “Heartbeats,” which appeared widely in film and advertising. González followed it with “In Our Nature,” expanding his philosophical and lyrical themes, and later released “Vestiges & Claws” and “Local Valley”. Alongside his solo work, he performs with the band Junip and has collaborated with artists including Zero 7, Jori Hulkkonen, and The Göteborg String Theory. A frequent contributor to film and humanitarian compilations, he has become a defining voice in modern acoustic indie music.
