Juli is a German alternative pop band from Gießen formed in 2001 when the members of the earlier English-language band Sunnyglade transitioned to German lyrics and adopted their new name. The group broke through with their debut single “Perfekte Welle”, released in 2004, which became a major radio anthem, and their debut album “Es ist Juli”, released later that year, sold over one million copies and reached top chart positions in Germany. They continued to gain wide exposure through touring, festival appearances, and performances at events such as Live 8. Over the years Juli released several more albums, including “In Love”, “Insel”, and “Der Sommer ist vorbei”.
