Katie Melua is a British singer-songwriter born in Georgia who made her musical debut in 2003 and quickly became one of the UK’s best-selling female artists. Her first album “Call Off the Search”, released in late 2003, reached No. 1 in the UK and sold roughly 1.8 million copies in its first five months. Her second album “Piece by Piece”, released on 26 September 2005, also achieved major success. Melua is best known for a mezzo-soprano range and collaborations with producer Mike Batt and has released multiple albums, undertaken charity work and performed at events across Europe.
