Reykjavíkurdætur (the daughters of Reykjavík) are an eleven-piece, all-female rap group from the Icelandic capital. Since the release of their first single in 2013 they have gotten worldwide recognition for daring lyrics and dynamic stage performance. The group performs in solos, duos, trios and sometimes with all of them together. This makes for a show like no other where the emcees spit in both Icelandic and English about topics such as sexual violence and freedom, politics and first world hype. It is safe to say Iceland never saw anything like it, and you probably haven't either.
