The Thrills
The Thrills
Ireland
The Thrills are a Dublin-based band whose bright, California-inspired pop sets them apart from the early-2000s rock sound. Formed in the mid-’90s by Conor Deasy, Daniel Ryan, Ben Carrigan, Kevin Horan, and Pádraic McMahon, the group drew influence from artists like The Beach Boys, Neil Young, and Phil Spector. Their debut album "So Much for the City", released in 2003 and recorded in Los Angeles, reached number one in Ireland and number three in the UK, earning multi-platinum status and critical acclaim in both the U.K. and the US. The band famously opened for Morrissey at the Royal Albert Hall before even releasing their first single. The Thrills won a prestigious MME Award in 2004.
