Tokio Hotel is a German pop and rock band formed in 2001 by brothers Bill and Tom Kaulitz with Georg Listing and Gustav Schäfer. After early years performing as Devilish, they signed with Universal and released their debut album “Schrei”, released in 2005, which sold over half a million copies and produced multiple top-five singles in Germany and Austria. Their German-language follow-up “Zimmer 483”, released in 2007, and their first English-language album “Scream”, released in 2007, together sold more than 2.5 million copies worldwide and expanded their reach across Europe. The band went on to win major international awards, achieve multi-platinum sales, and perform global tours. Tokio Hotel became the first German band ever to win an MTV Video Music Award.
