What is your name and where are you from?
I’m Giift and I’m based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Born in Pretoria, South Africa.

Tell us how you started making music.

My dad is a musician, so we started off playing in a band together with my brother for fun. Then I taught myself how to play the guitar and piano. When I was around 15 my dad build a home studio and I started producing my own music around that same time.

Tell us the last song you’ve listened to, and tell us something you like about that song.

The last song I listened to was 'Will You Die With Me' by DJ LILLI. I really like it, + she is my girlfriend. Also, I listened to 'Money Longer' by Lil Uzi. I really like listening to music that sometimes doesn’t really have anything to do with what I make. I listen to everything. And I learn something from everybody. Uzi is still one of my top artists.

What's the best gig you've ever been to?

I really like my own concert. I played Roskilde Festival this summer, and I wish I could attend my own concerts.

Which song of your own is the most significant to you and why?

I like 'Lonely', ‘cause it was the start of a new chapter. I think that song was the reason many people tuned in, and I’m very grateful for that.

What album (or albums) have shaped you the most as an artist and generally as a person? What impact did they have on you?

I've listened to 'ANTI' by Rihanna A LOT. It’s so playful and I learn something new every time I listen to it.

Any new music you are listening to right now?

I recently came by a guy called Jordan Wand and his single called ‘White Crocs’.

Who is your dream collab with and why?

I have reached the top when I got a feature with Rihanna.
