Introducing: Night Tapes
Night Tapes share 17 songs that inspire them to create art and we chat with them about things (almost!) nobody knows about the band... ;-) Can you keep a secret?
Before you start reading, get into the vibe that is Night Tapes. They've created a playlist of 17 tracks that inspire them.
Let's get started! Speaking of starting. Where do people begin when they want to listen to your music?
We consider ourselves to be an audiovisual band. We love our YouTube people and we’ve been very lucky to work with some amazing videographers like Owain E. Morgan and Taz Tron Delix, so I think the best place to start would be our YouTube. We have also made a lil' playlist on Spotify that has all our music from the first release to the latest.
And what should we know about you?
We write, record and produce all of our music from our home in South-East London. EP’s have been made in our respective bedrooms and living rooms, and that will probably always be the way that we will write. Nighttime London has been a big inspiration to our music, not only in terms of having actual artefacts of nighttime London in our music, but it's also how Night Tapes started - recording onto tape at night in our bedrooms in London.
Who do people listen to if they'll like you?
Tame Impala, Cocteau Twins, Grimes, Men I Trust and Enya.
Can you tell us a little secret?
On our latest EP, ‘Assisted Memories,’ the sound of Salmon sizzling on a BBQ whilst it rains features underneath every track.
What do people like if they listen to your music?
Our people seem to be deep feelers. We have had lovely discussions about music production, spiritual life journeys, meditation, visual art and books after our shows. Our community seems to be about being sensitive in the world and finding the best way to live.
Why should people go see your show?
Come and see us if you wish to have a blissful time.
