Introducing: Ray Lozano
Time to get to know our nominees a little better. Ray Lozano shares songs that inspire her to create art and we chat with her about things (almost!) nobody knows about her... ;-) Can you keep a secret?
Before you start reading, get into the vibe that is Ray. She's created a playlist of 15 tracks that inspire her.
What was the first song you wrote about?
I was 14 when I started making my own songs and building beats in my bedroom. The first one was called “Summer” - a painful cliché ode to skipping school, chain-smoking on the playground, and pretending to be someone who actually had a story to tell. All fiction, obviously. :D
Which song of your own means the most to you and why?
HiYA — a song for my BFF. Life’s got us in different realities for now, but our daily voice notes are like little audio hugs, the best way to stay close across miles.
What did you want to be when you were little?
As a kid, I dreamt of designing interiors and spaces.
What do people like to do if they like you?
They float through quiet, intimate moments — music, scribbles, and fading sunlight — and hold tight to friendships, letting vibes (not schedules) set the pace.
What is something (almost) nobody knows about you?
I tried to teach my dog to sing harmonies with me. He responded with a very judgmental bark.
Dream collab for your art or music:
